Abstract

Multiple analogue message signals or digital data streams from many sources are merged into one signal through the process of multiplexing and sent across a common channel. An overview of several multiplexing strategies for bandwidth utilisation is provided in this study. Frequency-Division Multiplexing (FDM), Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (WDM), and Time-Division Multiplexing are the three widely utilised multiplexing techniques for maximising bandwidth (TDM). The multiplexing mechanism features, and structures are the key topics of discussion. The pros and disadvantages of these three multiplexing methods are also briefly discussed in this study, along with several applications that incorporate them. We review and contrast FDM, WDM, and TDM at the conclusion of this study.
